Chapter 10 — Ethan Burdock To the Northwest of Grantham was the Bar-D ranch, owned by Ethan Burdock. Burdock had carved a 28,000-acre ranch out of Indian territory long before anyone had thought to look for silver in this rough land. More than five thousand head of Longhorn cattle toughed it out across his range which stretched far north of the main house.
Oh man that was so good! I really like the variety of characters. I’m super invested in this story and can’t wait to keep reading… er listening to it. Your narration is so good man. The narrator voice AND all the character voices. I’m really enjoying this. Can’t wait to buy it and leave a review to pay you back for all this great story. I can’t wait to see this awesome story premise play itself out. Such a cool idea for a story. This is going to be good. Great stuff Patrick.
I like how 3-dimensional Ethan is. When he wanted to go after Charlie, I was half expecting that he would be one of those parents who don’t really care that their kid is in the wrong. The fact that he acknowledges that the trial may be fair and that Charlie may deserve to hang won me over to his character.
“And there he saw a large wooden ship, glistening in golden hue in the early morning light.” Pirates???
Would be pretty interesting if Charlie was somehow set up, and Ethan Burdock's opinion that it was all to steal his land turns out to actually be true, and not just paranoia.
